Hi Kate, I know a number of people who have gone to WM and absolutely loved it. I'm sure you'll do great there. It sounds like you have the running thing figured out. Balance is always hard at college, and it's key too in temrs of grades, your health, and your sanity.

I hope your GI issues have cleared up. I know that can be such a hindrance.

Well, take car of yourself and it'll be soon enough that you'll be back into the grind of classes and all that fun college stuff.

I may be totally wrong, but maybe the shin problem started because you lost a little bit of weight? Your body is probably not getting enough fuel to fully support and repair it's self so this may be the root of the problem.

But, I will say, from the little bit I know about you, it seems like you have a pretty level head and are already on the way back to fixing the underfueling problem. So hopefully with just a little time and patience you will be right and normal before you head off to school. :)

Good luck with everything!

Hey, I am a fourm user on Runner's World, and I just wanted to wish you good luck! Do no think about running as being something you do to stay skinny, but as something you do to relieve stress, clear you head, give you confidence, and most importantly, be HEALTHY, NOT skinny. It is okay to love to run because you know it is good for you body. It is a sign of self-respect, and care for yourself. Runners respect themselves, and I know you do too. There is much more to life than being skinny although it does not always seem like it, people do not think about your size; they think about who you are. I would join the running club and learn to love the sport for the fun and socializing of it if I were you. It sounds like a great idea and a blast!

Hi Kate!
I stumbled across your blog from a runner's world post- I really enjoyed reading what you have so far. Your frustrations sound so familiar- the angst from being tired, etc. How do runners lead normal lives, I often wonder?
